Vom Freitag den 13. – bis zum Sonntag 15. August wird der Kurgarten im Schloss Mirabell zum Musikgarten.

Die Veranstaltung startet am 13.8. und endet mit einer Chillout-Lounge am Sonntag den 15. 08. Beginn im Garten ist jeweils 16:00 Uhr

Abendveranstaltungen finden am Freitag und Samstag ab 21:00 Uhr in der Rockhouse-Bar Salzburg statt.

as a first step the Schmiede is proud to present: BEATBATTLE BETA 
For all Smith09 the beatbattle  should be a known concept, for everyone else: 

beatbattle is an open audio producer competition. anybody may participate. its purpose: to bring audio producers together and aggregate fresh productions. for a competition to work we need to be able to compare productions on a fair playing field. as there are so many styles etc.. we decided to work with a few rules and resource limitations. a zip.file with break and sample can be downloaded at the beginning of each beatbattle. participants shall produce a track solely with the material given and upload it by the deadline.

The off kilter, deep and detroit inspired ‚Suludada‘ charms and chimes its way down a dusty, richly textured path as the meandering synth themes intertwine and grow throughout 8 and half minutes. Smith Action - Berlin - SARUGAKU at Souterrain - Fr.4.12.

In der multimedialen Installation „Sarugaku“ beschäftigen sich die Künstler Blasius, Fischer, Rohrmoser und Schobel
mit dem Werk und der Identität eines Kunstschaffenden, der nach einer kurzen, aber intensiven Schaffensperiode aus
der Öffentlichkeit verschwand. Die beteiligten Künstler treten in diesem Fall als Archivare und Kommentatoren auf.
Skulpturen, Skizzen und Filme bilden einen Raum, in dem eine Auseinandersetzung mit dem Verschwinden dieser
Person statt findet. In einer transmedialen Erzählkonstruktion entfaltet sich eine Geschichte, die Spuren zum Verbleib
und den Motiven des Künstlers offenbart.

- PUBLICUBES: IN TRANSIT -

This interactive media art environment is dealing with the function, use and perception of public space. It alludes to nowadays optionality of public space functions within an experiment of media technology.

Cubes, placed in passage zones like train stations or pedestrian underpasses are the interface between passenger and projection and invites them to play with. He is prompted to interact with them and to cause interaction between the objects.

"publicubes: in transit"  (formerly named “Durchgangszone”) is one of the eight selected projects from Salzburg Land‘s cultural funding “Podium´09 – Kunst der neuen Generation” and will be presented in the beginning of november within the Podium’09 event series in Salzburg Lokalbahnhof (Main Station).
