VIA enables teenagers to have the experience of making a trailer with professional artists. This allows them to explore their own interests and skills that they have already developed, either through school or in their spare time and give them a chance to build upon this through the context of Schmiede10. This is instead of self-imposed trends that are set-up for “Yooofff”-this kind of ‘dumbing-down’ for teenagers and pre-teens is patronising and negates their responsibility causing either aggression, hyperactivity and/or irresponsibility which often leads into adult life. Applicants10 will be informed about their status by June 30th.

A rough program and all basic information for Schmiede10: DISCONTENT will be provided by June 30th.

Please send us a message if you got questions about  or if you missed the application deadline and are interested in oparticipating at Schmiede10. We will set up a waiting list.

Please post in the Schmiede facebook group in case you want to communicate with other Smiths or like to meet. If there are several people interested in any particular region we will try to set up a stammtisch (informal meeting) with Smiths close by.

Schmiede stands for three things: create, network, present.
Schmiede
 is a prosumer festival, a place where our ideas come to play.

Since 2003, Schmiede provides space, time, tools, a heterogeneous group of participants and projects. For ten days in September, the Saline in Hallein, Austria, becomes an open and free playground (2000m2) for 140 creatives and artists from all around the world. Depending on the needs and possibilities of its members the SmithNetwork moves along the borders of art, culture, handcraft and creative industry. Schmiede ends with FocusOnInside, a grand public exhibition, where the Smith productions of the past ten days are presented to the public and media.
