DER GREIF is having his first jubilee on saturday, december 17th! The fifth issue of the magazine for photography and literature will increase – due to this ceremonial cause – its page numbers (now 100 pages) and its print run (2000 copies)! Once again terrific photographs and texts from different artists from all over the world, that converge in DER GREIF and are present that night to the world public! Fantastic! The holy halls of Import-Export will furthermore be transformed into the brain of a photography-magazine.
And if all that is still not enough reason to water the evening in champagne: The future-jazz-band GTA Hoffmann around Munichs Jack-of-all-trades Beni Brachtel aka BARTELLOW will play at the space-station Import-Export. Der Greif - Issue 5
Now it’s official: November 18th is the deadline for the fifth issue, that will be published mid december. For the first time two issues in one year!
Until then, you can register, upload your work, edit it… On November 18th, the upload-page will be closed during the curation and editorial work at the magazine. We are looking forward to receiving your photographs and texts, and to a new, holistic issue of DER GREIF!

TALK
Wann wird eine anonyme Masse zum Individuum? Wo sind Schnittstelle zwischen digitaler und realer Welt? Ist langsam menschlicher? Kann Kunst im Netz überhaupt stattfinden? Der Greif lebt durch Sympathisanten und Teilnehmer. Anfangs ein rein regionales Projekt, das sich auf ein persönliches Netzwerk stützte, erreichen uns nun Einsendungen aus der ganzen Welt. Durch den persönlichen Bezug jedes einzelnen Künstlers zum Magazin entsteht ein einzigartiges Gesamtkunstwerk. Die stetig wachsende Teilnehmerschaft erzeugt ein Schneeballsystem, das das Magazin über die verschiedensten Kanäle bekannter macht. Der Greif schafft dadurch eine sinnvolle Verbindung zwischen analogem und digitalem Medium.

Finally it's done! After long and hard work "Der Greif" will release its new issue. On Friday, March 4th, we'll celebrate the release of issue #4 at Import/Export in Munich. There you can get your own brand new copy - hot off the press - have some drinks with us and freak out to the sound of the DJs Heiner Hendrix, Dusty (Jazz & Milk) and Bartellow (Columbus). The »Bad Jazz Troupe« will play a live set. We are looking forward to a fantastic evening with you and your friends.

Reminder: Smith10Production: till Okt.15th
We, DER GREIF, will produce a "Schmiede10: DISCONTENT special". (70x100cm poster-magazin / limited to 500 hand-signed copies).
Like at Schmiede09: AUFBRUCH: after having spent ten great days at Schmiede, we are now looking forward to receiving your work. We want your photographs, texts, music, videos, documentations about your work that has been produced during Schmiede10: DISCONTENT.
Our objective is to reflect on what happened during the 10 Schmiede days without documenting it in a usual manner. We will try to include as much work as possible, but please be aware that this is a SmithProject with limited space and resources, therefore the DER GREIF team will need to select.

GREIF SCHMIEDE SPEZIAL
Dear Smiths!
DER GREIF is working on the layout of the Schmiede Spezial Poster Mag. Everybody is still invited to send photos. Some of you already wanted to do so, but didn't send them yet, please see this post as a reminder.
We also need lyrics, poems, texts that were made throughout the schmiede or used for work there. Especially songlyrics would be great, because we want to visualize the music part of the schmiede typograhically on one of the three posters. This would be great!
The deadline for photos and lyrics will be the 18th of october, so just get your stuff together and send it to:
