DER GREIF is having his first jubilee on saturday, december 17th! The fifth issue of the magazine for photography and literature will increase – due to this ceremonial cause – its page numbers (now 100 pages) and its print run (2000 copies)! Once again terrific photographs and texts from different artists from all over the world, that converge in DER GREIF and are present that night to the world public! Fantastic! The holy halls of Import-Export will furthermore be transformed into the brain of a photography-magazine.

Das Debüt Album des Harp & Hang Duos CIFERENCE-SYMPHONY namens “well°live” wird veröffentlicht. Martina Stock (Harp) und Christian Schratt (Hang) wählten eine eher ungewöhnliche Location für die Aufnahme Ihrer ersten CD. Das Treppenhaus einer stillgelegten alten Aluminiumfabrik von 1924 (heute “Silo1″ in D-Töging am Inn) wurde von den akustischen Musikern nur für diesen Abend in eine Konzertlocation mit live Recording umfunktioniert. IEPE (geb. 1974, Rotterdam) wohnt und lebt seit 1997 in Berlin. IEPE ist bekannt für seine Absperraktionen in Berlin und Tokyo, sowie die regnenden "Wunder-Bäume" in Singapur, Berlin und Arnsberg. Er ist überdies Erfinder der Hybridsportart Schachboxen und leitet den Chessboxing-Weltverband WCBO mit Clubs in Sibirien, London, Los Angeles und Berlin. IEPE ist Mitbegründer von Pecha Kucha Berlin. Im letzten Film von Tom Tykwer "Drei" bohrte er in Berlin nach Öl. Für die Aktion “Painting Reality” verwandelte IEPE gemeinsam mit der Anonymous Crew mittels 2000 Autos und 500 Liter umweltfreundlicher Farbe den Rosenthaler Platz, Berlin ... -

Das Drama ist wohl, ob Desertrave oder Discopunk. Und spielt auf einem anderen Stern.
Schmutzige Beats aus einer selbstgebastelten Kiste rocken zwischen Techno und Rave.
Die Gitarre lärmt vortrefflich und der Bass ohnehin.
Vokalakrobatik zwischen Falco und Jon Bon Jovi ergänzt die Wall of Sound,
Undie ist groß, genau wie die Bühnenshow.

Die Einfahrt zum Explosiv ist relativ schlecht beleuchtet und beschildert. Am Eisentor ist ein kleines Schild angebracht: EXPLOSIV.

Kepplerstraße, rechts in die Babenbererstraße 700m, links in die Zollgasse, rechts den Bahnhofgürtel entlang (nur mehr 200 Meter)

Tram: 3.6.14 Hauptbahnhof, 7 min Fußweg
Bus: 50,53,54,55,58,63,85 Hauptbahnhof, 7 min Fußweg
Oder Bus 52 eine Station nach Hauptbahnhof, 1 min Fußweg

Die Zufahrt mit dem Auto st nur in Richtung Norden fahrend möglich:
Zuerst zum Hauptbahnhof Graz, dann Richtung Norden den Bahnhofgürtel entlang fahren. Es sind 400 Meter vom Bahnhof zum Expl: Nach der 2. Ampel und nach den Wohnhäusern stehen am rechten Straßenrand Bäume. Zwischen den ersten Bäumen ist eine Litfaßsäule. Die Einfahrt zum Explosiv ist direkt hinter dieser Litfaßsäule. Am Eisentor ist ein kleines Schild angebracht: EXPLOSIV. Das Explosiv ist ein rotes Gebäude, etwas nach hinten versetzt.

Until then, you can register, upload your work, edit it… On November 18th, the upload-page will be closed during the curation and editorial work at the magazine. We are looking forward to receiving your photographs and texts, and to a new, holistic issue of DER GREIF!

The Nomadic Village is a temporary 10-day settlement set up on a vacant lot in County Durham, UK. The nomadic artists’ mobile homes/ateliers will form the structure of the Village, with On The Road Productions’ (ORP) Steyr-Ikarus bus acting as its townhall. Artists will come together to work in this autonomous environment to stimulate creativity and exchange, and attract local people to observe and participate in the process. At the end of the Village there will be a public exhibition/show that will invite a woder audience to appreciate the works produced during the Village. The project is run by Klaus Maehring (Lead Artist and founder) from ORP/Austria.
The Nomadic Village UK 2012 is produced in collaboration with ISIS Arts (Newcastle upon Tyne, UK) and supported by Durham County Arts Team. It will seek to invite nomadic artists from all over the world, whose practice is rooted in themes surrounding nomadism; those who intentionally displace themselves to seek encounters that not only influence their work but form it; artists who work without borders and constantly respond to situations, places and people along their journey. The Nomadic Village will act as a platform for artists working in this manner, ultimately creating a wider, more visible network for nomadic artists ...

Valeria Schwarz’ Arbeit „Un coup de dés“ die sich auf das bekannte Gedicht von Stéphane Mallarmé bezieht, beschäftigt sich mit dem Augenblick der „ fallenden Würfel“, wenn ein Gedanke beginnt. Dieser chaotische, nicht lineare Moment stößt mit dem unendlichen Weiß einer Seite zusammen und alle Türen öffnen sich. Damit ein Gedicht geschrieben werden kann, ist es essentiell, dass Wörter über die Seite „fallen“.
