Schmiede is a social networking festival for producers - a playground for ideas which want to be alive.Schmiede empowers this process by organizing space, food, technical infrastructure, and an international network of specialists.

At Schmiede you will find people to talk to, dance with, and, more importantly, friends and associates to help you on your way. Schmiede creates a network of trust, teaching, and learning. There are no teachers at Schmiede, just around 140 people like you, experts and students in their fields of interest and profession.

The Schmiede network is within digital media and more. Over the years we hosted Smiths from all sorts of backgrounds: audio, programming, visual, djing, food, real time cinema, performance, architecture, guerrilla marketing, philosophy, engineering, youth culture, law, history, diverse fields of art etc.... The SmithNetwork unites annually in Hallein by Salzburg in Austria. Together we create Schmiede.Schmiede is located in a huge turn of the century salt refinery, which provides the adequate amount of space for the Schmiede Network and its equipment to come together and work and play.

Schmiede is a collective process. It doesn’t matter who we are but what we want.
