During the Schmiede the choreographic work "Fast Forward [and its melancholic rewind]" will take place near Salzburg's main station and we seek interested artists to participate. This project is collaboration between ARGEkultur, Schmiede and choreographers of the Fast Forward project which is an outdoor journey through the city both an invited guests and random bystanders on the street will become the audience. The choreography is a physical and playful interaction with the environment of both indoor and outdoor spaces. The dancers will pass through the exhibition hall that is prepared by the artists at train station. As a follow-up a second part of the performance will be shown in November there idea is simply to rewind the journey.

 

We are looking for a classical white cube gallery type so therefore the spatial setup will refer to certain standards and characteristics of the visual art world. We kindly accept already existing material, but appreciate new artworks that fit the setting. Because the opening time of the gallery is only  ten minutes each time, artworks as well videos should function within such temporal restrictions.  We will provide technical support and can offer few lights, monitors and speakers.

 

The exhibition would require your collaboration in the days leading up to the presentation for the work on Wednesday 22nd. The performances will last until Sunday 26th.

 

The idea of the exhibition hall is to create an artificial space during the performance, in which the audience suddenly is drawn into a different paradigm of space and social codes. It is also a space for interested artists from Schmiede to work outside of the Saline and to cooperate with choreographers from ARGEkultur. Therefore we see this project not only as an artistic meeting between contemporary dance and visual/sound/media art, but also as a short term stage for collaborations.

For video documentation we also are looking for gifted individuals with superior technology to follow the performance for the duration of 90 minutes on Wednesday the 22nd, starting approximately at 6pm. The documentation is going to be used as video elements in our performance that will come to existence for the second part in November. So if you are interested in documentation please contact us and we will organize cameras if needed.
