FaceCatcher

Facecatcher is a videoinstallation which was made the last month at the artist in residence program of http://subnet.at.  The basic Idea behind the Project was to "catch" the faces of visitors of Schmiede 2010 with help of a friendly Teddy and a built in webcam and collect data during the whole 10 days of Schmiede.

At the End of Schmiede the collected images have been presented once again in a projection while the teddy still was catching Faces. The basic sound samples of the insects from the final installation where made by Andreas Fleckl during the Schmiede 2010.

I realised the Project with following Technology:

  • Processing (Main Installation Core)
  • OpenCV (Facetracking)
  • JBox2D (final Installation)
  • OPENGL (Rendering)
  • Max-Msp (Sound)
  • OSCP5 (Open Sound Control to connect Processing and Max-Msp)
