as a first step the Schmiede is proud to present: BEATBATTLE BETA 
For all Smith09 the beatbattle  should be a known concept, for everyone else: 

beatbattle is an open audio producer competition. anybody may participate. its purpose: to bring audio producers together and aggregate fresh productions. for a competition to work we need to be able to compare productions on a fair playing field. as there are so many styles etc.. we decided to work with a few rules and resource limitations. a zip.file with break and sample can be downloaded at the beginning of each beatbattle. participants shall produce a track solely with the material given and upload it by the deadline.  

betabeatbattle rules:

1. BEATBATTLE BETA will last from 02.01.2010 12:00 till 03.01.2010 17:00 (last chance for upload)
   
2. beat and sample can be downloaded right here (thanks to Franz Spencer). 
3. participants may use any workstation (MPC/DAW, etc.)
4. and last but not least no other sound material may be used solely sample and beat provided. 
   

betabeatbattle Regeln:

1. Das .Zip-File mit Break und Sample wird am 2.1. zum Download bereit stehen
2. Es darf ausschließlich das Samplematerial verwendet werden, also keine zusätzlichen Schallquellen.
3. Die Workstations sind frei wählbar (MPC/DAW, etc.)
4. Am 3.1. muss der fertige Beat bis 17h hochgeladen werden, dass am Abend alle Ergebnisse begutachtet werden können.
