What if…? – a local-dream-lab
This workshop will be a kick off for a concept lab that combines art, community involvement and local issues. It’s aim is to trigger idea generation for real time translation of local issues into inter-active art.
It shall encourage creative minds to think freely about improvements in Hallein or to their local environment and city landscape. It is about creating positive visions and ideas for the community.
Topic examples
· Water: pollution, Salzach/Danube…, (e.g. ground water has to be extensively overused in Vienna in order to keep pipelines clean...)
· Energy: Electricity, Gas…
· Mobility: Usage and relation of bikes/public transport/cars/airplanes,
· Environment: planted trees/cleared woodland, city life for animals
· Radiation: mobile, Wifi, nuclear
· Pollution: Noise, garbage, air
· Finance: cash flow, banking, other evil
Possible Formats
The artistic outcome should tackle the chosen issue in a way that the environmental impact is made visible to the community. Moreover, an inter-active element is crucial: any behavior change of the targeted public should effect the outcome visibly.
The format of the work is free. Naturally the concepts are most likely to be installations (any media, visual-codes, light projection, sound, performative) in the public space, in selected communities/spots and/or on a website.
However, any other format and new interdisciplinary methods are warmly welcome.
Participants
With this workshop we hope to connect diverse types.
Everyone who is interested in the topic and in local, positive change in whichever way is welcome to participate. It does not matter if you are an artist or not.
We would love you to join forces and build cross-disciplinary teams, be diverse, be international, be a force of many: IT meets stage design, architecture meets communication specialist, economist meets artist, ecology experts meets designer, taxi drivers , life lovers, workers, geeks hooks up with sculpture...
